SB 946 (Steinberg) Chapter 650, Statutes of 2011
On October 9, 2011, the Governor of the State of California signed SB 946, which requires private health insurance plans to cover treatment for autism. The battle was fought with your help and perseverance. Thank you to everyone who participated and showed support. This law is a victory not only for people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, but also for their communities of family members, care givers, health care providers and advocates.
